Your nightstand might be one of the most personal pieces of furniture. Not only do you spend a third of your life sleeping next to it, most of us also use our nightstands as a home for an intimate collection of our most personal objects. Aside from being a highly personal piece of furniture, your nightstand should also be functional. And sometimes, the most functional nightstand is actually no nightstand at all.
Break the mold, be unique and place something other than a nightstand next to your bed that offers the same function but is different than the usual. Swapping out standard furniture for something unexpected can add loads of personality to a boring bedroom.

CUSTOM PLATFORM BED
The built-in custom platform bed with nightstand surface looks fabulous, but it ain’t cheap and it’s permanent. On the balance, these arrangements look fabulous and look at all that surface area.
In the bedroom, a console table can pull double duty as a nightstand and desk, or a nightstand and vanity, thanks to the open space that allows you to place a stool, ottoman or chair underneath.
